Students in Mrs. Campbell’s class recently hosted a store for our kindergarteners, and staff were also invited to join in on the fun! This hands-on activity created a meaningful financial literacy lesson for everyone involved.
Older students practiced leadership as shopkeepers, kindergarteners learned money skills as customers, and staff enjoyed watching these valuable lessons unfold. A win-win for the whole school community!

Students “raced” through activities using the A.R.A.C.E. strategy—a powerful writing approach that helps them organize their thinking and clearly respond to questions. From answering prompts to citing evidence, these students showed focus, determination, and great teamwork every step of the way!
We’re so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see them cross the finish line strong! 🏎️💫

Registration for new-to-KISD students for the 2026–2027 school year opens April 6. Families can complete registration online by visiting www.killeenisd.org/enroll.
Enrollment is quick and convenient online, with additional support available at campus kiosks. Students requesting a transfer must do so during the enrollment process.
Required documents include proof of residency, immunization records, a birth certificate, and parent ID.

Killeen ISD would like to share an important update regarding campus leadership for the upcoming school year. We are pleased to announce that Chelsy Rainwater will serve as the next principal of Reeces Creek Elementary.
Ms. Rainwater has been with Killeen ISD since 2012, serving as a classroom teacher, instructional specialist, and assistant principal at Harker Heights Elementary. She brings a strong understanding of both instruction and campus leadership.
She is known for supporting staff, setting clear expectations, and creating structured learning environments where students can succeed.
Ms. Rainwater will begin working with staff in the coming weeks as the district prepares for a smooth transition into the 2026–2027 school year.
